Network Shared Problems? Computer does not show shared folders on the network.?

Here is my situation:

Desktop: Is able to access shared folders on my laptop. Shared folders are set up (1 is on the internal hard drive/1 is on the external hard drive) but are not shown on network. (Did not set them invisible.)

Laptop: Is able to set up a shared folder and share it over the network. But cannot access the Desktop's shared folders.

Solution?

Network Shared Problems? Computer does not show shared folders on the network.?
Also, check the properties of the shared folders and make sure you set them to be shared on the network and that you didn't make it private.
Reply:Ensure that the firewall on the PC allows file and printer sharing, also, if the laptop is Vista OS you will need to go to the properties for the network connection you are using. In the tcp/ip settings and under advanced there should be a button for allow netbios under tcp/ip. Turn this on.
