Unable to connect to my own network. error message is i am not able to get a valid ip address?

i have a linksys wireless g broadband router.I HAVE A LAPTOP WHICH IS CONNECTED TO MY WIRELESS NETWORK. MY NETWORK IS SECURED AND YOU NEED A WEP KEY TO ACCESS MY NETWORK. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A DESKTOP PC HP. IT RUNS ON WINDOWS MEDIA CENTRE EDITION SP2. I ALSO PURCHASED A WLAN USB STICK SO THAT I CAN CONNECT UP MY DESKTOP TO HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION. INSTALLATION HAS NO PROBLEM.

SO I WENT TO 'VIEW ALL WIRELESS CONNECTIONS'. A FEW WIRELESS NETWORKS SHOWED UP. I CHOSE MINE TO CONNECT TO IT. I WAS PROMPTED TO ENTER MY WEP KEY. I ENTERED MY WEP KEY.

WHAT HAPPEN WAS I AM CONNECTED TO MY NETWORK BUT I HAVE 'LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY'. MY NETWORK DID NOT ASSIGN A NETWORK ADDRESS TO MY DESKTOP PC.I TRIED TO REPAIR MY NETWORK BUT IT SHOWS RENEWING MY IP ADDRESS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO NEXT.

Unable to connect to my own network. error message is i am not able to get a valid ip address?
i think you must configure in linksys wireless with dhcp ip address.

and try to read a guide book from linksys for configuration coz some item must be customize.
