Xp wireness network non operational?

Hello

I have installed xp sp2 on my laptop latutude d620. the wired network and wireless network adapters are connected to my router. However the wireless adapter shows non operational state in the networking tab in task manager. How do i get both my wired network and wireless network to work for me to get additional bandwidth.

Xp wireness network non operational?
Wired and wireless networks are independent of one another; therefore, it's not possible to gain additional bandwith by using them together.

Each network type uses a different means to connect, which ultimately defines the amount of bandwith capable for each connection.

A wired connection (hard wire) is usually only necessary in order to setup the wireless connection for the first time.

But it's nice to have as a secondary method to connect when wireless connections are running poorly, or when you require a more secure connection.

Basic instructions on how-to troubleshooot wireless connectivity issues:

Always use a hard wire to connect any devices that will be used for wireless networking.

Once you have connectivity using an ethernet cable, you will need to complete the following steps before disconnecting the ethernet cable:

1) First you will need to create your wireless network.

2) Once your wireless network is configured correctly, you will need to restart your PC.

3) After your PC boots back up "Check for available wireless networks" and click "connect."

4) When your wireless connection is working properly, you can now take out the ethernet cable and you're good to go.
Reply:Sounds like you might have to reinstall the drivers for your network interface cards... go to Dell and type in latitude d620 for the driver download pages..

Good luck
Reply:You cannot use both the lans at time to browse the network.
Reply:or restart you wireless zero configuration.

from Start-Run-type services.msc and press Enter. scroll to the bottom and look for Wireless Zero Configuration and make sure it's started. if it is Restart it.

Good Luck :)
