How to Network my printer, What options?

I have:

1x desktop PC with Vista (network via cable only)

1x Adsl wi-fi router with 4 network cable connections.(linksys).

2x wi-fi laptops with xp/ xp pro

1x Colour Laser printer %26amp; Scanner and cable network connection.

(Epson Aculaser CX11N)

1x usb Mono (Black %26amp; white only) Laser printer (no network hardware)

Question.

How would you set up this kit? type of network setup?

I would like to print, scan, and connect to the internet with all three computers.

(currently all computers connect to the internet via the router and I can only print via the desktop via usb)

The Epson Colour printer / scanner is the new bit of kit I need to add.

How to Network my printer, What options?
I presume the color laser has an RJ45 network port and the mono laser does not. You will connect the printer to the network via a straight cat 5 patch cable

It is probable that the mono laser will accept and be able to run from a usb - network print server - but you will need to check this out from the printer maker's web site. I will assume it can accept the print server. You will connect the USB of the mono laser to the print server USB port and connect the RJ 45 to a network switch with a straight cat 5 cable.

If you do not have enough ports in the existing router, purchase a 10/100 network switch and connect all network devices to it with one cable from rouiter to network switch.

Now follow the directions of the color laser maker for setting up network connections. Assign a static IP address to this device as it directs. Once configured from one pc it should print properly. Now configure all the other networked pcs (wired and wireless) as shown in the printer manual. Since you have a static IP you use the add a printer wizzard for a networked printer and you use the IP address of the printer as shown in the printer literature.

The mono print server is configured similarly. Give it a static LAN IP and configure it with one pc; then do the others.

Once completed all pcs can route print jobs to all printers.
