hi guys ... i'm using a shared internet connection through a local network, switchs and router and all that ... and the guy who have the router says that he installed some kind of software on his server pc that monitors the download amount of each computer in network and when this amount exceeds 1GB for a any PC the software disconnects that PC from internet "not network"connection for 4 to 5 hours so that it gives others chance to use net fairly "yeah sure" .... so here is the problem .... 1) i don't know if this is true or even possibole.... 2) if it can be done .. what kind of softwares can do that ,what it's called so i can look for it ... ... 3) is there a way to go around this and keep downloading with out the effect of this software .. "cause i'm 100% sure that if he uses such program that he excludes his friend who are whales of download so that we pay for net and they download ... so help me out guys
Network download amount control ?
Any good Firewall/Router has the option to limit use of the Internet. Ways around it? Not if you do not know the Admin. password.
