i have a small network of 15 pc's, one of them was gone bad so i reinstalled and configured . But when i try to ping to the server and other pc's it repy with 0% loss, but when i browse network neighbourhood it says this network cannot have path or some times the other pc's icons will not display. IP address, subnet mas and the gateway address are as previous nothing has changes, so what is the problem in my configuration
Network problem?
Do you have the network icon in your system tray? Does it show status as Connected? Check to see if you have plugged in the network cable properly. Check if the Link/Activity LED is glowing. If not, unplug the cable and reinsert. Make sure you have installed the proper drivers for your Lan Card.
Try reinstalling TCP/IP.
(Please provide updates for speedy resolution of your problem.)
Reply:the prolem is in your lan card or the operating system.bcoz this seems that your o.s has been stick to the previous values %26amp; not accepting the new installed values.
so,you should reinstall the o.s then, again try to configure.it should work.
Reply:1. please go to the search in program menu there having one option (A computer on network) here u will give which system did in displayed in network neighbourhood. that time the system icon show means may be the virus attacked to bad system.
2.which system did in displayed that sytem windows firewall enabled ( you must disable).
3.
Reply:possibly using a different operating system. Or all the others have serice pack 2 on them but not this one?
Could be something as simple as a firewall being enabled on this computer.
also make sure it is using the exact same network protocols as the other computers, sometimes by missing out netBIOS can cause this problem although is it not usually needed
