Our home network was working just fine, and we bought a new cable to move the second computer downstairs. Now on the longer cable the network is still there, but says that a network cable is unplugged. All cables are, in fact, plugged in though. What is causing this, and how can I fix it?
Network Cable Issue?
Sounds like a bad cable. Sometimes you get them. Take it back to the store and get a new one. Also if the cable is over 300 feet you will start experencing problems so make sure its not over that. Remember that has to be the total lenght.
Reply:The cord could be bad. If it's a longer cord, some creature could've eaten through it. Other than that, the ethernet card could be bad.
