Wireless network connection?

When I try to connect with someone a screen pops up asking for a network key can someone tell me what that is? And the screen says "the network requires a network key (also called a wep key or a wpa key. A network key helps prevent unknown intruders from connecting to this network." Where do I find this "wep key"?

Wireless network connection?
The key is provide by whoever owns the network. It is a security code to prevent unauthorized access.
Reply:You are trying to connect to somebody else's wireless network. You need to ask the owner for a key. If you do not have their consent to use the connection you are breaking the law. This can carry a prison sentence.
