Secure Wireless network ...!!!! 10 POINTS for your help?

I went to this URL http://192.168.2.1

and I enabled the WAP2 security...I typed a password and I was done.....then after rebooting I wanted to enter to my network and I couldn't ... it said

" the network password needs to be 40bits or 140bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters"

that popped ...I already retyped the password and doesn't work and i'm sure the password was right...I don't know what to do

my computer is HP and my router is belkin.............

I can't use the enthernet because I can't enter to my network, what do I do??

Secure Wireless network ...!!!! 10 POINTS for your help?
Well, WPA2 doesn't work with all adapters. Try WPA/TKIP or resort to WEP 128 (26 chacters)

To get back, just connect with a CABLE to the router, login and change the wireless security. Cable connections don't need the key.

Never use wireless to configure routers always connect with a cable for all configs. Much safer.

Good Luck
Reply:Reset the router. There is a small hole, put a pin there and reset back to new again and start over.
Reply:wap gives you a code after you state the pasword and you must enter the code not the pasword push the reset buton on the back of the router it will erase the old code and you can start from scratch this time read what it says more carefully
Reply:First thing to do is reset your router to the factory settings. There will be a button on your router to allow you to do this. Look in your manual.

You will then be able to access your router with the URL you mentioned and reset your password.
Reply:Ok. Reset your router. Usually a button on the back or a pin hole. When you reset press and hold the button for ten seconds. Your router should reset and have the basic settings again for you. Now just like you did you can type in the ip address and access everything.

Go to : https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm

Read. Use the random generator and hi light the number you want. copy it. I use the 63 character one. Write it down or copy it to a text file for safe keeping. Paste or type it into your password box in the router page.

I think it was just that your password wasn't using the right characters and the length of the password was too small.

hope this helps. good luck.
Reply:if you reset the router you will need ethernet to acess it.

why didnt you try wep instead? some wireless card only takes certain wireless security like wep.
