Network adapter disappears randomly when powering on computer, returns on restart....?

I have had this issue for a while and have yet to figure it out. 75 percent of the time, when I power on my computer, the network icon will show a red X. If I go and try to resolve the problem, I get a message telling me their is no network adapter. Then I look in Device Manager, and sure enough, there is no longer a network adapter.

However, I then restart the computer and the network adapter and connectivity returns. The connection is not loose and nothing seems loose inside the computer though neither one of those seem likely anyways.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium

Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Uninstall NIC and change your pci slot reinstall ..use updated driver for your NIC.
Reply:1. It could be your NIC is going bad

2. It could be your PSU not supplying enough power if you have too many hardware in it

3. There might be some conflicts between the NIC driver and other softwares.
Reply:Hi there,

I would try using different USB port if using external adapter...may due to port, just maybe. If internal, try update the drivers.

Cheers!
