I've a Windows XP desktop + Windows Vista Laptop + Windows Vista Desktop. All 3 machines connects to internet using wireless connection. I've printer on Windows XP machine and want to share on network. I tried using Network connection wizard but nothing happens. I can see both Vista machines but cannot see XP machine in Vista machines Network neighborhood and vice versa. I can ping between XP %26amp; Vista machine and it works fine. All 3 machines are connecting to same router wirelessly for internet connection. I can see vista desktop machine in vista laptop's network neighborhood and vice versa. But Windows XP machine doesnot show Vista machine in its network neighborhood. What is way to share resources between Vista and XP machines ?
Wireless Home Network taht has both Windows XP + Windows Vista machine and can share resources.?
Johntrot hit most of the items above. Last piece is to make sure thr firewall on all PC's is configured to allow Print and file sharing. This includes windows firewall and third party firewalls (e.g. symantec)
Reply:Check that all 3 machines are in the same work group
On all 3 machines, make sure file and print sharing is enabled
On the XP machine, go to start%26gt;settings%26gt;printers and select the printer. Right click on it and select sharing
give the printer a name and set it to shared.
I'm not really up on Vista because I won't buy it :)
But with that done you should be able to see the XP machine on the Vista unts and install the printer
